WeChat Mini Program
This guide covers all features of the ETN WeChat Mini Program: account setup, quick clipping, WeChat Reading sync, clip history, and personal center configuration.

1. Open the Mini Program
Search for 「EverythingToNotion」 in WeChat and open the mini program.
The home screen shows all platforms ETN supports:
WeChat Articles · Xiaohongshu · Douban · Weibo · Bilibili · Xueqiu · WeChat Reading · Xiaoyuzhou · and more
On first launch, a "Connect Notion" button appears in the center. You need to connect Notion before you can start clipping.
2. Connect Notion
This is a one-time setup step.
Authorization steps
- Tap "Connect Notion" on the home screen
- A dialog appears: "Authorization link copied to clipboard. Please open it in an external browser."
- Tap "Got it"
- Open Safari or Chrome on your phone, paste the link, and navigate to it
- On the Notion authorization page, select your workspace and click "Allow access"
- Return to the mini program home screen and tap "Refresh status"
- When the status shows "Authorized — please configure your database", tap "Configure database"
Configure your target database
The database configuration determines where your content is saved and which fields are used:
- Tap "Configure database" to open the database setup page
- Select an existing Notion database or create a new one following the guide
- Complete the field mapping and save
After saving, the home button changes to "Quick clip" — you're ready to go.
3. Quick clip (core feature)
Quick clip is the core feature of the Mini Program. Paste a link and ETN automatically parses and syncs the content to Notion.
Steps
Step 1: Get the link
Find the content you want to save on the source platform and copy the share link:
- Xiaohongshu: Tap Share → Copy link
- WeChat articles: Tap ··· → Copy link
- Bilibili: Tap Share → Copy link
- Other platforms: Copy the page URL
Step 2: Open the clip page
Return to the mini program and go to the "Quick clip" page. The mini program automatically reads your clipboard and fills in the link.
If auto-fill fails, paste the link manually.
Step 3: Choose an action

Preview mode
Tap "Preview" to open the content detail page where you can review the parsed result and add information.
Fields shown in the detail page:
- Cover image (if available)
- Title: Auto-parsed, tap to expand full title
- Author
- Type: Platform label (e.g. "Xiaohongshu", "WeChat Article")
- URL: Original link
Add a note (optional): Enter a note up to 100 characters.
Add tags (optional):
ETN supports multi-level tags in the format Level1/Level2/Level3 (up to four levels).
- Tap "Select existing" → choose from the dropdown
- Tap "New tag" → enter a tag name
After reviewing, tap "Save & sync" at the bottom — the content is written to Notion.
Direct sync (quick mode)
Tap "Save & sync" directly on the quick clip page to skip the preview and submit immediately.
Best when you're confident about the link and don't need to add extra information.

4. WeChat Reading sync
Automatically sync your highlights and notes from WeChat Reading to Notion. Supports both manual sync and daily scheduled auto-sync.
Tap "WeChat Reading" on the home screen or navigate from the bottom bar.
Step 1: Authorize Notion
The left card shows your Notion connection status. If not authorized, tap "Authorize" (same flow as section 2).
Step 2: Connect WeChat Reading
- Tap "Scan QR code" on the right card
- A QR code overlay appears
- Long-press the QR code → "Save to album"
- Close the overlay, open WeChat Scan → select the saved QR code from your album
- Complete the WeChat Reading login authorization
- Return to the mini program — the right card shows "Connected ✓"
WeChat Reading sessions expire periodically. If sync fails, just re-scan to reconnect. The QR code is valid for about 1 minute.
Step 3: Start syncing
Once both are connected, tap "Start sync".
During sync you can see:
- Progress: Current sync step
- Success: Number of books synced successfully (green)
- Failed: Number of books that failed (red)
For failed books, a detail list shows the title and error reason. Tap "Retry" to re-sync that book individually.
Scheduled sync
No need to sync manually every time. ETN supports automatic daily sync:
- Tap the time shown on the "Scheduled sync" row (e.g. "Daily 08:00")
- Select your preferred sync time from the time picker
After setting, ETN syncs automatically in the background each day at that time — no need to open the mini program.
5. Clip history
View all content synced to Notion through ETN.
Tap "History" in the bottom bar, or tap "Clip history" from the quick clip page.
Filter history
By platform: The horizontally scrollable tag bar at the top filters by source platform (All / Xiaohongshu / WeChat Articles / Bilibili / Weibo…)
By status:

History cards
Each record shows:
- Cover image (if available)
- Title
- Created time and source label (via Xiaohongshu, etc.)
- Platform tag
- Status: Success (green) / Failed (red) / Syncing (blue progress line)
Handle failed records
Failed record cards show two buttons on the right:
- Retry: Resubmit the clip task — the system will try to sync to Notion again
- Delete: Delete this record (irreversible, requires confirmation)
Tap a record to open its detail page and view the full error message.
Pull to refresh: Drag down from the top of the list to refresh.
6. Personal center
Tap "Me" in the bottom bar to open the personal center.
6.1 Account & membership
The top user card shows:
- WeChat avatar and name
- Membership level (Free / Annual Pro / Lifetime)
- Membership expiry (not shown for Lifetime)
- UUID: Unique account identifier — tap "Copy"
UUID use: Use it to log in to the Chrome Extension without re-registering.
6.2 Database configuration
Open "Database configuration" to manage your Notion database connection:
- View the currently linked database
- Select a different target database
- Update field mapping (title, tags, note, cover, etc.)
6.3 Image storage
Image storage determines where images in clipped content are saved. ETN supports four options:

Setup (Alibaba Cloud example):
- Open "Image storage"
- Select the "Alibaba Cloud" tab and enter: Endpoint, AccessKey ID, AccessKey Secret, Bucket name
- Enable the storage toggle and save
Without configuration, images are stored directly in Notion — suitable for light use but storage is limited.
6.4 Tag management
Open "Tag management" to:
- View all existing tags
- Create new tags (supports multi-level:
Level1/Level2) - Delete unused tags
6.5 iOS Shortcuts
For iPhone users — clip from any app's share sheet without opening the mini program.

FAQ
Q: "Parse failed" after pasting a link?
A: Make sure the link is from a supported platform. Some platforms require the full share link (not a short link before redirect).
Q: Browser shows an error when opening the authorization link?
A: You must use an external browser (Safari / Chrome). Do not open the link inside WeChat's built-in browser. Paste it into the address bar and navigate directly.
Q: WeChat Reading sync failed?
A: WeChat Reading sessions expire quickly. Re-scan the QR code to reconnect, then try syncing again.
Q: Tags not appearing in Notion?
A: In database configuration, make sure the "Tags" field is mapped to a multi-select property in your Notion database, then tap "Sync tags".
Q: Status stuck on "Syncing"?
A: Go to clip history and pull to refresh to see the latest status. If a record stays on "Syncing" for a long time, try deleting it and clipping again.
