With AI enabled, ETN automatically analyzes content during clipping, generating smart tags and content summaries to help you organize your knowledge base more efficiently.

1. Feature Overview
AI Smart Summary includes two core capabilities:

Once enabled, ETN automatically calls AI for analysis during each clip, and results are written to the corresponding Notion fields.

2. Enable AI
Entry Point
Mini Program → Profile → AI Settings
Steps
- Enter AI Settings page
- Toggle AI Enabled switch to on
- Select mode (System Managed / Your Own Key)
- Click Save
Once enabled, subsequent clips will automatically trigger AI analysis.
3. Two Modes
ETN provides two AI usage modes for different user needs:
System Managed (Recommended for Beginners)
Uses ETN platform's AI service, no configuration required, ready to use out of the box.

Select "System Managed" mode and save to start using.
Your Own Key
Use your own AI service API key, no quota limits, billed by your AI provider.

4. Configure Your Own API Key
After selecting "Your Own Key" mode, fill in the following:
4.1 Select Provider
Choose your AI service provider from the dropdown. Currently supported:
- DeepSeek — Chinese LLM, great value
- OpenAI — GPT series models
- Other OpenAI-compatible services
4.2 Enter Model Name
Enter the model ID you want to use, for example:

4.3 Enter API Key
Enter the API key obtained from your AI service provider.
API Key is sensitive information. Keep it safe and don't share with others. ETN encrypts your key for storage.
4.4 Base URL (Optional)
If you're using:
- Official service: Leave blank, system uses default address
- Proxy service or private deployment: Enter the corresponding API address
4.5 Test Connection
After configuration, click Test Connection to verify:
- Connection Successful — Configuration correct, ready to use
- Connection Failed — Check if API Key is correct, network is working
After test passes, click Save to complete setup.
5. Results
During Clipping
With AI enabled, the clipping process remains the same. AI analysis runs in the background automatically.
Effect in Notion
After clipping, Notion pages will include:

If using a custom database, ensure "Tags" and "Summary" fields are mapped, otherwise AI-generated content won't be saved.
6. FAQ
Q: Will AI analysis slow down clipping?
A: AI analysis runs parallel to content sync, usually won't noticeably increase wait time. If AI service responds slowly, content saves to Notion first, AI results added later.
Q: What's the daily quota for System Managed mode?
A: Currently in beta, daily quota is approximately 20-50 times (dynamically adjusted based on system load). Once exceeded, AI features pause for the day, reset next day.
Q: What if AI-generated tags are inaccurate?
A: AI is currently in beta, there may be inaccuracies. You can:
- Manually correct tags in Notion
- Give feedback to support to help improve the model
Q: Can I use only smart tags without summaries?
A: Currently AI features are toggled together. If you don't need summaries, you can hide that field in Notion.
Q: How much does using my own API key cost?
A: Using DeepSeek as an example, analyzing one article costs about $0.0001-0.0007. Heavy use (100 articles/day) would be about $1-2/month. Check your AI provider's pricing for specifics.
Q: Does AI configuration work in the extension?
A: Yes, AI configuration is shared across all platforms. After configuring in the mini program, Chrome extension clips will also apply AI analysis.
