Batch Collection
Batch collection is one of ETN extension's most powerful features, allowing you to collect all content from a user's profile at once, eliminating the need for tedious one-by-one clipping.
Supported Pages
Batch collection is only available on the following pages:
| Platform | Supported Pages | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Xiaohongshu | User profile | xiaohongshu.com/user/profile/xxx |
| Xiaohongshu | Collection boards | xiaohongshu.com/board/xxx |
| User profile | weibo.com/u/xxx |
Usage Process
Step 1: Enter Target Page
Open the user profile or collection board you want to collect. For example, open a Xiaohongshu blogger's profile.
Step 2: Start Batch Collection
- Extension automatically detects if current page supports batch collection
- If supported, a "Batch Collection" banner appears at top of page
- Click "Start Collection" button on the banner
A blue banner appears at the top of the page with a "Batch Collection" button. Click to start.
Step 3: Wait for Content Loading
- Extension automatically scrolls the page to load more content
- Page shows collection progress
- After collection, a notes list window pops up
Tip: Don't manually scroll the page or switch tabs during collection
Step 4: Select Content to Clip
The batch collection window includes these features:
| Feature | Description |
|---|---|
| Search Filter | Search by title keywords |
| Status Filter | All / Selected / Already Clipped / Failed |
| Select All/None | One-click select or deselect all |
| Single Select | Click checkbox to select individual items |
A popup window shows all detected content. You can search, filter, select all, or pick individual items.
Status Explanations:
- 🆕 New: Never been clipped
- ✅ Already Clipped: Previously clipped (avoids duplicates)
- ❌ Failed: Previous clip attempt failed
Step 5: Batch Add Tags
- After selecting content, click "Batch Tags" button
- Search or select tags in the popup
- Click tags to multi-select
- Click "Apply", tags are added to all selected content
A tag selector popup lets you search and multi-select tags. Applied tags are added to all checked items.
Step 6: Start Clipping
- After confirming selection and tags, click "Start Clipping"
- Extension processes selected content one by one
- Progress bar shows current progress
- Success/failure statistics shown when complete
Batch Clipping Process
Processing Flow
During batch clipping, extension processes each item as follows:
1. Open note page
↓
2. Wait for page to load
↓
3. Extract content (title, body, images, videos)
↓
4. Upload media files
↓
5. Create Notion page
↓
6. Update progress, process next item
Anti-Detection Measures
To avoid platform restrictions, ETN uses these protections:
- Random Delays: Random wait time between each item
- Batch Cooldowns: Pause after processing several items
- Human Behavior Simulation: Scrolling and clicking simulate real user actions
Progress Display
During clipping, the following is shown:
| Info | Description |
|---|---|
| Current Progress | Completed / Total |
| Current Step | Which stage is being processed |
| Success Count | Number successfully clipped |
| Failed Count | Number of failures |
Resume from Breakpoint
If batch clipping is interrupted (e.g., browser closed, network disconnected), ETN supports resuming:
- Reopen the same user profile
- Click "Batch Collection" button
- System detects incomplete task
- Prompts whether to continue previous clipping
- Select "Continue" to resume from breakpoint
Deduplication
ETN automatically records clipped content to avoid duplicates:
- URL Normalization: Different formats of the same link are recognized as identical
- Local Recording: Clipped content IDs saved in browser locally
- Status Marking: Already clipped content shows "Already Clipped" label in list
Tip: If you need to re-clip something, manually check the "Already Clipped" items in the list
FAQ
Q: Collection stuck halfway?
A: Might be a page loading issue. Try:
- Refresh page and restart collection
- Check network connection
- Wait a while and retry
Q: Why does some content show "Already Clipped" but isn't in Notion?
A: Previous clip may have failed but record was saved. You can:
- Manually check these items
- Re-clip them
Q: Batch clipping is very slow?
A: This is normal. ETN controls processing speed to avoid platform restrictions. Each item takes about 10-30 seconds.
Q: Can I run multiple batch clips simultaneously?
A: Not recommended. Running multiple batch tasks simultaneously may cause:
- Processing confusion
- Higher chance of platform restrictions
- High system resource usage
Q: How to handle failed items?
A:
- Switch to "Failed" tab in batch window
- View failure reasons
- Check failed items
- Click "Re-clip"
Best Practices
1. Process in Batches
If user profile has lots of content (over 100 items), recommend:
- First collect and clip 50 items
- Then collect remaining content after completion
2. Add Tags Before Clipping
Batch adding tags is more efficient than modifying one by one after clipping.
3. Choose the Right Time
Recommend batch clipping when network is stable and you don't urgently need your computer.
4. Clean Up Records Periodically
If too many "Already Clipped" items affect usage, you can clear collection history in extension settings.
